The Distance League started over 15 years ago and is a fun monthly event for members and friends of Rodillian Runners. The run is held at different places in the local area, we meet at a pub beforehand then stay for a drink and chat afterwards. Entry is £3.00 and anyone can join in; the more the merrier!
It was started to provide a fun and not too serious monthly run out for members and friends of Rodillian Runners and a social occasion afterwards. There is a general open invitation for anyone in the area to take part – the more the merrier. The Committee of Rodillian runners, however, reserves the right at any time to decide who may and may not participate.
The distance league is an internal club training session, open to invited members as guests, so does not need a UKA license. Insurance is covered by that provided by UKA to affiliated clubs for internal training. The charge made is a training fee and is used to contribute to awards and food on some nights, as well as making a contribution to club funds.
